Must Read

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force is investigating a deadly shooting in La Tourney, Vieux Fort, where two men with well-documented history with law enforcement were killed in the early hours of Friday morning.

At about 5:45 a.m. on September 12, 2025, officers from the Vieux Fort Police Station responded to reports of gunfire in the community. On arrival, police discovered the motionless bodies of 24-year-old Rebelto Wilson of La Tourney, Vieux Fort, and 22-year-old Travis Charles of Desruisseaux, Micoud. Both men bore apparent gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene by a medical practitioner.

Police have confirmed that Wilson and Charles were no strangers to law enforcement, underscoring the violent and high-risk lifestyles that often draw repeated attention from authorities.

Deputy Commissioner of Police with responsibility for Crime Management and Citizen Security, Wayne Charlery, appealed to the public for cooperation. “We encourage anyone with information that can aid in solving this violent crime to come forward. The Vieux Fort Police Station can be reached at 456-3906, and anonymous tips can also be shared through the Crime Hotline at 555 or the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force Crime Hotline app,” Charlery said.

In extending condolences to the families of the deceased, Charlery stressed that the RSLPF, together with community and agency partners, will engage the families to provide psychosocial and mental health support. He emphasized that these interventions are critical to easing trauma and reducing the risk of retaliatory violence.

“The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force is determined to address this tragic situation and ensure that community cooperation helps bring closure,” Charlery added.

The investigation into the La Tourney double homicide is ongoing.
