Tropical Shipping St. Lucia Celebrates Academic Excellence, Reaffirming Commitment to Youth Empowerment and Education

Must Read

On Friday, August 8, 2025, Tropical Shipping St. Lucia proudly held its annual scholarship handover ceremony, celebrating five outstanding primary school graduates from the Castries basin.

This important event highlighted the company’s continued dedication to community development and youth empowerment through its Youth Education Scholarship Programme, launched in 2024.

The programme was designed to alleviate the financial burdens faced by students transitioning from primary to secondary school by awarding each recipient US $500 to assist with the purchase of essential school supplies.

Nominees were carefully selected by the student’s primary schools based on academic achievement and demonstrated financial need, ensuring a fair and transparent selection process.

By investing in these young students’ education, Tropical Shipping aims to foster professional growth and the creation of stronger, more resilient communities throughout St. Lucia.

The company recognizes education as a vital tool in empowering individuals and driving long-term social and economic progress.

“We are truly honored to support these students at such a pivotal moment in their educational journey,” said Ms. Eldris Mauricette, Island Manager at Tropical Shipping. “This scholarship programme stands as a cornerstone of our corporate social responsibility initiatives, allowing us to give back meaningfully to the community and help pave the way for a brighter future for the next generation.”

Building on the success of its inaugural year, Tropical Shipping is committed to expanding the programme in 2026, aiming to reach a wider audience across more communities and deepen its positive impact across the island.

Through these efforts, Tropical Shipping continues to demonstrate its unwavering commitment to nurturing talent and supporting the sustainable development of St. Lucia’s youth.
