Senator Allison Jean Threatens Legal Action Against Guy Joseph Over Allegations

Must Read

Senator Dr. Allison Jean has issued a ten-day ultimatum to former government minister and United Workers Party (UWP) stalwart Guy Joseph, demanding he retract statements accusing her of corruption while in public office, or face legal consequences.

“He is alleging that I was involved in corrupt acts while in public office. This is absolutely not true,” Jean declared in a recent interview. “I have written, and my attorneys have written to him, asking him to retract the statement and apologise within 10 days of receiving the letter. We’re waiting the 10 days to have not elapsed, but failure to do so, I am going to take him all the way to clear my name.”

The Senator also directly addressed Joseph’s credibility and his references to the Lindquist Report, which has resurfaced in political discourse. “He made reference to the Lindquist Report, and I can tell you I have a copy of the Lindquist Report, and my name is not mentioned in that Lindquist Report on one line,” she said. “So the general public needs to realize that Guy Joseph is not credible. Nothing he says is credible.”

Jean argued that the Saint Lucian electorate has already demonstrated their disapproval of Joseph, citing his own words during the 2021 election campaign. “The Saint Lucian public listened to him in 2021 and made a decision based on what he said that if the St. Jude Hospital was not completed by him, they needed to vote him out. And they did,” she stated. “And I can assure him that this election coming, he will not win.”

Calling on the public to hold Joseph accountable, Jean concluded, “The Saint Lucian public needs to recognize that Guy Joseph is unfit to hold public office. I have enough time to respond to Mr. Guy Joseph and to let him know that when he wants to spew his lies, he needs to spew it on somebody else.”

Jean has indicated that if the former minister fails to respond within the given time, legal proceedings will follow.
