Rodney Bay, Saint Lucia – The search for missing American tourist Travis Wyant has ended in tragedy. Police have confirmed that his body was discovered near the water in Rodney Bay shortly after 10 a.m. on Tuesday morning.

Wyant, 35, of Grayson, Georgia, was last seen on the evening of Sunday, July 6, after leaving his hotel room. His failure to board a scheduled flight the next day sparked an urgent search effort involving the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force, his family, and the U.S. Embassy, which had opened an active investigation.
Despite some leads suggesting Travis had been seen alive following his disappearance, police recovered his body earlier Tuesday. His family, who had remained in close contact with investigators, has been informed of the devastating development.
He was last seen wearing a grey T-shirt and bright blue swim trunks with a design, and was described as 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing approximately 210 pounds.
At this time, police have not determined whether foul play was involved, and the circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear. A full investigation is underway to determine what led to this tragic outcome.
