Castries, June 20, 2025 – The Daren Sammy Foundation (DSF) has officially launched its annual scholarship program for the 2025/26 academic year, offering a transformative opportunity for young Saint Lucians with a passion for sports and academics. Now in its third year, the initiative is once again supported by Republic Bank EC through its Power to Make a Difference (PMAD) program.

The DSF Scholarship aims to empower the next generation of student-athletes by easing the financial burdens on families while rewarding discipline, talent, and academic commitment. Successful applicants will receive a generous scholarship package covering school-related expenses to help them thrive both in the classroom and on the field.

To qualify, applicants must meet all six criteria:

Be a Saint Lucian citizen

Be between the ages of 10 and 17

Maintain a minimum academic grade of 75%

Be enrolled in a primary or secondary school

Actively participate in school, community, or local league sports

Come from a low-income household

Only applicants who meet all eligibility criteria will be considered.

Scholarship application forms are available at primary and secondary schools island-wide, as well as Republic Bank branches in Castries and Vieux Fort. Completed applications, along with supporting documents and the last three school report cards, must be submitted by July 31, 2025. Submissions can be made electronically via email to darensammyfoundation@gmail.com or dropped off in person at the listed Republic Bank branches.

The selection process promises to be competitive, as the Foundation aims to identify and support the most deserving young athletes across Saint Lucia. The DSF Scholarship continues to stand as a beacon of opportunity and inspiration for students striving to balance academic excellence with athletic ambition.
