Secrets Resort & Spa St. Lucia Officially Opens, Ushering in a New Era of Luxury Travel

SAINT LUCIA — The island’s luxury tourism sector has received a major boost with the official opening of Secrets Resort & Spa St. Lucia, an upscale, adults-only, all-inclusive property under the internationally renowned Secrets® brand.

The newly transformed 355-room luxury resort, located on the scenic coastline of the former Morgan Bay property in Choc, represents a substantial EC$240 million investment into Saint Lucia’s economy. Meticulously redesigned, the resort now embodies the signature elegance, romance, and world-class service for which the Secrets brand is celebrated.

The official ribbon-cutting ceremony, held on Wednesday, June 4, brought together senior government officials, hospitality executives, tourism stakeholders, and business leaders to mark the grand opening.

Resort Manager Ricardo Esteban described the launch as “the culmination of months of dedication and hard work and a commitment to offering the highest level of standards the Secrets brand is renowned for.” He praised his team’s tireless contributions and vowed to deliver a guest experience “defined by exceptional service in an ambience that only Saint Lucia can offer.”

Resort Owner Jeff Mullen said Saint Lucia was the perfect destination for Secrets’ expansion. “This was a logical nexus,” he stated. “Having long admired Saint Lucia’s natural beauty and tourism potential, we saw an extraordinary opportunity to introduce the Secrets experience here.” He also thanked the Government of Saint Lucia for enabling the transformation and fostering an investor-friendly environment.

Guibion Ferdinand, Parliamentary Representative in the Ministry of Tourism, emphasized the resort’s far-reaching socioeconomic benefits. “Along with those who gained employment during the refurbishment and rebranding phase, many more will be hired as full-time staff,” he said. “This resort will also create ripple effects across the economy, providing opportunities for taxi drivers, vendors, farmers, and service providers—strengthening the livelihoods of many Saint Lucians.”

Chairman of the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, Thaddeus Antoine, hailed the opening as a milestone in the island’s tourism development. “The commissioning of this resort signals the continued evolution of Brand Saint Lucia as international interest in the destination grows,” he said. “Secrets Resort & Spa supports our vision for tourism growth. This high-end brand boosts Saint Lucia’s competitive advantage and enhances our standing as a marquee destination for luxury and romance.”
