A dramatic rescue operation unfolded on the slopes of Petit Piton late Tuesday afternoon after a male hiker reportedly slipped and fell during a climb, prompting a swift emergency response involving firefighters and experienced mountain guides.
According to eyewitness accounts, the incident occurred around 4:50 p.m. when the tourist, accompanied by his daughter, was making his descent from the iconic peak. The man allegedly lost his footing, leading to a fall that left him stranded on the rugged terrain. His daughter immediately rushed down the trail in distress and sought help at the nearby Paradise Hotel.

The rescue team departed for the mountain at approximately 6:10 p.m., braving the steep incline and fading daylight.
The rescue party consisted of seven individuals—five firefighters and the two guides. After reaching the injured man, they were able to stabilize him on-site. As of the latest update, preparations were underway to bring him safely down the trail.
Officials have not released the identity of the tourist but confirmed that he remains in stable condition.
