Castries South MP and Minister for Tourism and Investment, Dr. Ernest Hilaire, met with stakeholders to provide an update on the proposed Underwater Sculpture Park, set to be established in his constituency.

The park will feature underwater sculptures placed in the ocean, creating an underwater art gallery designed to enhance reefs, attract marine life, and boost tourism.

“The Underwater Sculpture Park is a project which remains dear to my heart,” Dr. Hilaire stated. “As we move on and prepare for the start of this project, consultations continue with tourism, public, and private sector stakeholders, which will also add to the vibrancy of Saint Lucia’s dive tourism product.”

This was the 15th stakeholder engagement, focusing on the project’s overview, progress, status, and design plans.
Attendees included historians, religious leaders, government officials, activists, marketing agencies, and boat operators.

Discussions provided feedback for the Ministry of Tourism to refine the initiative. According to Dr. Hilaire, the project will showcase Saint Lucia’s history, heritage, and culture while maintaining an eco-friendly approach to ensure sustainability.
Tuesday’s meeting was held at the Habour Club at Rodney Bay
