The Police Welfare Association (PWA) has made its position clear regarding the arrest of Sergeant Ricardo Jerson Charlemagne, who has been charged and remanded in custody for the alleged theft of a firearm from the Gros Islet police station armoury.
According to official reports, the missing firearm has not yet been recovered, raising further concerns surrounding the case. Despite the gravity of the allegations, PWA President Camron Laure has emphasized that the association will not interfere with the ongoing investigation, stating that it must be allowed to proceed without external influence.
Speaking exclusively with Daily Post Laure refrained from commenting on the views of police officers regarding the situation, however, he reaffirmed the PWA’s commitment to ensuring due process is followed. The case has sparked widespread discussion, particularly given the security implications of a missing firearm from within law enforcement.
Authorities continue their investigation into the incident as the search for the missing weapon remains active.
