Saint Lucians can now set their calendars for the biggest party in sport, when the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) hits our shores from August 12 to 23, 2026.
Although this edition of the tournament sees the reintegration of the newly minted Jamaican Kingsmen, the group stage will still feature ten matches. This means the 2024 champion Saint Lucia Kings will only play the new team and the Trinbago Knight Riders once during the preliminary rounds. Added to this, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines will also see CPL action for the first time in their history at the Arnos Vale Playing Field and that’s exactly where the Kings campaign will bowl off against the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons on Sunday August 9 at 7:00pm local time.
The action then moves to the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground where the Kings will have 5 home fixtures. Wednesday August 12 sees the first home fixture against the St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots, a rematch against the Falcons on August 14, next up the Barbados Royals on August 16, followed by the Guyana Amazon Warriors on August 19. The home stretch culminates on Friday August 21 against the Jamaica Kingsmen. All home fixtures are scheduled for a 7:00pm start time.
Thereafter the action moves to Trinidad where the Kings will take on the Knight Riders on August 26, then hopping to St. Kitts on September 3 for the return fixture against the Patriots. Barbados which will host this year’s final will see the Kings come to town on September 6 to take on the Royals before we jump to Guyana for the final group phase fixture against the Amazon Warriors on September 9. Once again all fixtures are scheduled for a 7:00pm start time.
The Daren Sammy led Kings, featuring several Saint Lucians including Johnson Charles and Akeem Auguste will be in search of their second CPL title after lifting the cup in 2024, which was an historic year for sports in Saint Lucia coming on the heels of Julien Alfred’s now iconic Olympic double medal.
